We are known here in the south to freak out at the words "snow" and "ice".
Yesterday we were blanketed by freezing rain and sleet causing widespread panic for bread and milk.
For some reason if there is a possibility of snow or ice there is high demand for bread and milk.
At 10:00 o'clock yesterday morning the temperature was holding steady at 24 degrees.
Now some of you in other parts of the country may think that warm for January but here in SC, not only is it rare, but frigid!!
Adding sleet and freezing rain to the mix makes for a bad day.
It is reported we had a total of 1/10th of an inch accumulation.
Our office closed early due to icy roads, along with schools and businesses so we could all get home safely.
There were 146 reported accidents in the upstate of SC so it was time to head home and take it seriously (after a quick lunch of course).
The rain ceased by 5pm and all got quiet. The temperatures never did rise yesterday but this morning we are looking forward to predictions of a 50 degree sunny day.
So all is well SC the great ice storm has passed and we can resume normal activities.

Beautiful pictures of the ice, Jenn!
